In 2004 I was ref by endocrynologist re: benign lump on my thyroid and exploratory parathyroid surgery , Surgeon Edward Zane/ Harbor City California stated that he does only total thyroidectomy, because "I will return for another surgery later". Asked how he determines where is my parathyroid adenoma, he pointed to my neck "It's here". He and the resident Matthew Romano conducted surgery, even though I never met Romano and Zane was supposed perform the surgery. After the surgery surgeon Zane informed me that"I am cured". Only later I found out that during that surgery I lost (pathology report) my normal parathyroid and blood supply to two parathyroids was cut off. I was left w/parathyroid adenoma. I had two more surgeries looking for parathyroid adenoam at Kaiser. The surgeon at Kaiser Sunset told me that my neck was butchered, a lot of thyroid tissue was left behind, a lot of scaring. I fought w/Kaiser to approve surgery at UCSF, while I live w/parathyroid adenoma and very high PTH. After over a year, Kaiser approved surgery and surgeon in San Francisco found my parathyroid adenoma. But at this point I did not have any parathyroid left due to the first surgery by Edward Zane at Harbor Kaiser. Dr F.Hendee, endocrynologist was overdosing me on calcium throughout the years (on average 2500 mg a day) , eventually I developped kidney stones. All these years Dr Hendee pretended that I still have some residual parathyroid tissue, he was ordering for me PTH tests regularly. Overall the management of my condition before the removal of parathyroid adenoma and after by dr Hendee was very poor, the only remedy once I did not have any parathyroid left was to give me more and more calcium. New endocrynologist in told me in 2014 that she will no longer order PTH tests, since I do not have any parathyroid left and the blood supply to the two glands was cut off during the surgery. Dr Zane refused to meet w/me and administration to explain what happened during his surgery. He NEVER admitted to me that he took out a good parathyroid and destroyed two others. Apparently he said to Ombudsman representative that "he does not feel comfortable meeting w/me". My health has been ruined by Dr Zane and his resident Romano, they "thrive" and I am disabled, I live without parathyroid, I sufffer from: neuromascular symtoms, which include episodes of tetany and frequent parasthesias, neurological symptoms, incl. "brain fog", bronchospasms and laryngospasms, depression and anxiety,

bone pain, bone changes, hearing loss, kidney stones, cardiac abnormalities, hypermineralized bones, soft tissue calcification. I live in fear that my kidney will fail.

Kaiser does not take responsibility for its doctors negligence, incompetence and unethical conduct. Kaiser does not care and the only ones who "thrive" are their doctors.

I have been mistreated by Kaiser in several other instances. I will present my current problem caused by Kaiser doctor's negligence at the later time. It is truly scary situation and condition Kaiser doctor caused me by her ignorance and incompetence.

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Monetary Loss: $750000.

Preferred solution: I want apology from Edward Zane and Dr Hendee, financial compensation for suffering and becoming disabled..

Location: Los Angeles, California

Many Kaiser doctors do more harm than good. Best advice is to stay OUT of the hospital.

because when you have to go in there some Doctor screws you up. My grandma was healthy, her intestine had a small blood leakage making her anemic. Did the soctor fix it? NO.

He gave her blood thickening drugs and she immediately had a stroke. Never came back normal again.
