Kaiser Permanente
Reviews and Complaints
Kaiser Permanente Can be Detrimental to Your Health
Word to the wise....If you have any type of illness that requires long-term care and management please avoid Kaiser Permanente(SCPMG).
Most consumers do not fully understand that Kaiser is not in the business of curing or treating people they are in the business of making profits and reducing operating profits. The allied health professionals lack experience and Kaiser likes to hire foreign trained medical doctors. The culture gap created between patient and care provider can be deadly.
If you are looking for a low-cost medical care plan - for basic medical care (cuts/bruises/broken bones/fever etc.) then Kaiser will fit the bill just fine. But if you have been diagonosed with a serious illness or have concerns about your future medical care - stay-away from Kaiser. You will do better finding and using an alternative health care plan.
They don't Kaiser Permanente "Killer Kaiser" for no good reason!
Worst doctors, nurses, and customer service I'v ever came across!
Kaiser changed my life, & not in a good way
Kaiser Permanente put someone else's children's info in my newborn's medical record
Kaiser Permanente worst customer service
I've been calling Kaiser customer service 866-238-**** almost everyday for a week now to cancel my moms insurance policy and its bean a real pain. First of all most customer service reps are not that helpful.
The representative I spoke today 10:01 ET 01/04/10 was the worst of them, she try to ignore all my questions and attempted to hang up on me.
She was very rude.
It was also especially hard to send a fax to them, I faxed cancellation notice almost everyday and they have 2 days to verify if the fax went through. I've faxed my docs at home and thru outside fax service but when I try to verify later, they were not able to receive it.
Incompetent Administritive Management At Woodland Hills, CA
Someone needs to check out assistant evening/night administrator-Betsy Diep. She lies and makes numerous attempts to intimidate the emergency room staff.
Despite numerous complaints to administration, they continue to let her continue her destructive behavior. She refuses to help the nurses when they are short staff. She recently stated that the nurses should break each other eventhough they were short two nurses. Someone speak out and help!!!!!
This person needs to be stopped before another patient is compromised by her incompetentcy. She has no emergency room experience, but was still hired by administration.
The emergency room needs help!

Kaiser Permanente Nurse and Doctor at Woodland Hills Sucks
I had a terrible experience with Kaiser Permanente Hosiptal at Woodland Hills. A intern nurse (called Lenoard) who is an old guy and fell asleep while I was walking to the blood drawn room withdrew blood. Dr. Yvonne Trilling there denied it was their fault and gave me a strong painkiller called Iburprofen to heal the pain on my arm. My stomach got acid reflex after taking the anti-inflammatory pills. I had chest pain after taking the medication. I called the nurse line and they told me there was no doctor available right away. They told me to wait. This telephone call has ruined the best thing in my life - my health.
I went to see Urgent Care in Woodland Hills. Doctor there has not properly understood my situation. They gave me pepcid for two months. I didn't know why they gave me two months medication. They didn't tell me I had acid reflex. They just said I had inflammation of Esophagus and gastritis. They didn't know how to properly diagnose. My stomach was ruined by Kaiser and I had fight with my ex finance just because of that and that has ruined my relationship with him. We were supposed to get marrried last year in August. I have broker up with him as we fought about the fact that Kaiser doctor was not professional. I was so depressed with the situation (my arms are still painful).
As a conclusion, due to the joining of Kaiser insurance for the first time, it has ruined my health, my career and my marriage and loss of my income as I am a CPA and graduated from USC in 1997.
Please tell all of your friends and family members not to join Kaiser at all for the rest of life. Please boycott Kaiser Permanente. It will make your life miserable. They are not responsible for their fault.

@Victoria Phibes, I think a lot of these doctors at Kaiser don't believe you about being allergic to or not being able to tolerate or having an otherwise bad reaction to certain meds (regardless of where they are from). For example, there is a type of medication EVERY time I have taken it, I have a bad reaction to it.
I had ended up in the ER several times with a previous insurance because of this type of med. So, I explained to the doctor's at Kaiser I have a bad reaction to this and I am ABSOLUTELY NOT going to take this type of medication. They treated me like I was bsing them and didn't believe me.
I don't understand why they can't respect patients when it comes to these things. Also, their doctors refuse to go off of the KP formulary -- I wonder if they take it out of their pay or something if they do.
Absolutely right about miscommunication training! Back in the 1990s I lived in San Diego, and had an infection.
I went to see a Kaiser doctor, and told the Indian doctor, or wherever he was from, that I was allergic to penicillin and cephalosporins. He said, "I will give you Keflex." I took it, not knowing what it was...and twenty minutes later, I was back at the emergency room at Killer Permanente, couldn't breathe, and was put on a Solu-medrol drip.
And because KP was listed as an HMO, I couldn't sue the doctor for malpractice. I hope that *** lost his license at some point.
Interesting that you mention Kaiser hiring foreign-trained doctors. I kid you not, when you look at their list of doctors on their website (complete with pictures), they are almost all female or "minority." Not that there's naything wrong with female or minority doctors, I prefer to have a female doctor, but I want a doctor who's been hired based on SKILL, not gender or skin color.
And, let me tell you, I have had to switch doctors because I could barely understand their English. They really should be required to undergo accent reduction training, because a miscommunication between doctor & patient could be quite serious.
