On 2/13/2012 I went to Kaiser Mt Scott Urgent care as instructed by my HCP on 2/12/2012 when I called for advice on same issue

First I was seen by a Physician who said he had no idea what to do for me as I have HIV + so rather than call a professional he I believe put it like "took a stab in the dark" and precribed me Rx.

When I went to get my Rx filled the pharmacist Janine Tamborello was very pleasant and seemed so nice when she was explaining or inquiring if I'd taken the medication before in which I had so there was very little conversation, then the pharmacy tech who was helping me mentioned I had a copay and I said I shouldn't have to pay because I was no longer working and was on Care Assist Oregons health plan Ryan White funded and I pay a monthly co pay! her deameanor changed when I mentioned this and told the technician not to even bother to put my information in the computer and that I would either have to pay (very sarcastically) or come back on Monday when some body was capable of

entering my insurance information into the EPIC computer system for billing. Her coworkers advised her to AT LEAST give me enough medication until an appointment I had with my Hcp 2 days 2/15/2012. then very sarcastically said "He is not getting anything until he pays." I turned and walked away as she snickered.away.

Calling some out for tolling and not using their name, isn't that exactly what you just did...

Insurance and billing is not as easy as it appears from the other side of the counter. Some issues cannot be resolved easily and quickly.

You seem to be blaming all of your problems on a person who is trying to do their job and sorry if things don't always go as you think they should. I won't join the pity party for someone who is not even willing to post their name publicly-but who sees fit to post someone else's name-give me a break!

I USED TO WORK AT KAISER, DONT THEY STILL HAVE SECURITY CAMERAS ALL OVER THE PHARMACIES?

I HIGHLY DOUBT THEY WILL SHOW HER SNICKERING AT ANYONE>>>

THEY MIGHT SHOW WHAT "REALLY" HAPPENED THOUGH.

HMM. MIGHT NOT STICK WITH THE SAME "STORY"

Care Assist is an ON-LINE billing.

The online service was down that day, no help desk service on weekend.

Nobody can make Care Assist computers come up when they are denying a claim.

Call Care Assist to confirm this is true or ask for WRITTEN RECORD OF DENIED BILLING that day.

The staff doesn't control this.

It has nothing to do with staff and everything to do with billing an online service.

If you don't wants public comments, DON'T POST IN A PUBLIC PLACE.

janene tamborello is by far the last person that would ever judge anyone based on their inability to pay or their HIV status. I have known Janene for about 10 years now and there is no way that she did the thing that you accuse her of doing.

Oh and just a FYI... your Dr. Can write a rx for you for just about anything it does not mean your insurance has to pay for it. As a matter of fact insurances work of what is called a formulary and the formulary is broken down into tiers (1,2,3) with 1 being the cheapest and 3 being the most expensive copay.

Not everyone know how to load insurances into all processing systems as some state issued insurances are difficult to load. So therefore require additional assistance. Sounds like you came in on a Saturday. No pharmacy or pharmacist will authorize adispence of medication unless the pt pays for pt out of pocket if the insurance has an issue with paying (whatever it maybe, problems loading, requires PA.

ECT). They were totally in the right percived attitudes aside.

Thanks for the attacks on a sick person makes me feel about as well as I did the day I encountered refered subject... is this all you have to do with your time, I have shingles ongoing plus many other complications thanks for the support mental health appt is 1 month out thanks alot

Guest

Sounds like she was following pharmacy rules; it sounds like you have the negative attitude. You really should figure out yourself how to get your drugs in a timely manner, and not blame her because it's a Sunday, and your 'ducks aren't in a row'.

Guest

You'll find no sympathizers here - or anywhere (just the people who nod so as not to set off the crazy person and then roll their eyes once he walks away). Find a productive hobby; it will make you happy.

Congrats on your letter from Kaiser! Focus on that for solace.

Guest

If you had Care Assist coverage, why didn't you just provide them with the card so they could bill your insurance? Why is it always someone else's fault when people are unprepared?

Guest

Perhaps this is why Kaiser has sent me a letter of apology

As this woman gets all her friends to write how wonderful she is good one

Guest

Evidently you did not read I informed Kaiser who boasts about their connected services they provide and had this witch let me I would have provided her with the current insurance card but she started on a tiraid about how I have to wait until Monday for a Rx the Dr. Just ORDERED????

Civil complaint made, had this been some one not served in restraunt they'd be suing! this is medical issue....

was it her call??? Evidently she was sick and tired of helping people on Care Assist!!!

Guest

One must prove they have insurance regardless where you get your drugs filled. If you weren't in the KP system then that had to be clarified first.

Try getting a "few pills" till insurance is cleared up from any other pharmacy. No other pharmacist would do that. Start you on a new rx when maybe you wouldn't be back for the rest?

Not wise. Not necessary to trash someone for doing their job according to the rules.

Guest

Ha! With a website URL like this one, I guess we can assume that most folks have some sort of beef to settle.

If this was a serious complaint, let's go to Kaiser or got to the BBB or something. Anonymous posting like this is just that - anonymous flaming. I give a big "whatever" to this type of stuff and totally take it with a grain of salt.

Serious consumers will pursue these types of complaints in a serious way, not post on anonymous boards like these.

People, take this for what it is...

Well there's always going to be someone out there - such as this Andy K - who will drag someone's name through the mud over a misunderstanding or because he didn't get his way. I'm sure most people who come into contact with the pharmacist in question are capable of coming to their own conclusions. Hopefully Andy K gets his mental health needs met appropriately so he can stop perseverating on the pharmacist.

This is a huge slam against a decent human being and clearly malicious. Janene Tamborello doesn't have a personality that would allow her to laugh at a person's inability to pay or to desire an HIV+ person to go without medication. This complaint was either manufactured or the situation was grossly misunderstood.

Guest

I have known Janene T for over 10 years and have practiced pharmacy with her. There is no way that she would behave in the manner you are speaking.

I find it abhorrent that you would defile her reputation as a professional. If you are unhappy with service, you can exercise the right to not go back.

That is what respectable human beings do. Respect yourself and be at peace.

Guest

Doesn't sound anything like the professional person that I have experienced with Janene Tamborello.

Guest

Pharmacist are paid by the hour, no individual person makes more or less $ from any prescriptions.

Also, Kaiser is a non-profit group.

Guest

What is her excuse for being so rude to me then? I know how I was treated once she found out I was on CAre Assist she was totally rude, perhaps she did not want to *** the hand that was feeding her at Apex as she was in charge the day she thought she was going to get a charge out of me!

Guest

The above is defamation of character. She worked at Apex pharmacy owned and operated by openly ***/*** folks here in NW Portland.

Which services all types of LGBT patients, so obviously not homophobic or mistreating Care Assist patients. Call the owner of Apex and his technician Wilson if you want the truth.

PS Also volunteered for CAPS NW.
